Running for a cooperative board position is more than volunteering for a leadership role—it's an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the community. Those who serve help ensure the cooperative remains focused on its mission of providing reliable, affordable energy for future generations.
Serving on the Farmers Electric Board of Directors is an excellent way to become involved in important decisions that affect your neighbors, businesses, and the overall quality of life in our area.
Board members are responsible for setting policies, approving budgets, overseeing financial performance, and helping guide long-term planning for the cooperative. They work closely with management to ensure the cooperative operates efficiently, maintains safe and dependable service, and invests wisely in infrastructure and technology. Directors also attend regular meetings, participate in training opportunities, and communicate with cooperative members to better understand community priorities.
A nominating committee of co-op members seeks individuals from their district to be placed on the ballot. Nominees must be co-op members who reside in the district for which they are running.
One director from each district will seek re-election this year. They are:
- West District: Kevin Tanner
